National Communication Association (NCA)

Association for Business Communication (ABC).  Includes a consultants interest group and also committees studying intercultural and international issues.

International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).  A network of professionals in corporate communication, media relations, human resources, community relations, and training.

Tennessee Communication Association (TCA).  Has an interest group in corporate/organizational communication.

Prominent Names in Organizational Communication
Dr. W. Charles Redding (1914-1994).  A renowned communication scholar known as the father of modern organizational communication, he was a professor at Perdue University.  He is the author of several books including Communication Within the Organization, How to Conduct a Readership Survey, and The Corporate Manager's Guide to Better Communication.  A prestigious award in his memory is given by the International Communication Association (ICA), the W. Charles Redding Dissertation Award in Organizational Communication.

Dr. Sue DeWine (http://www.hanover.edu/abouthanover/facts/inaug/dewinebio), currently president  of Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, has been a communication consultant and fund raiser.  She was a professor of organizational communication and leadership at Ohio State University from 1985-2000, and is also a co-author of several books including Organizational Communication: Foundations, Challenges, and Misunderstandings, The Consultant's Craft, and Exploring Human Communication.  

Dr. Cal W. Downs (http://www2.ku.edu/~coms/faculty/downs.shtml) is known for his research and books on organizational communication analysis.  He is best known for his work on communication audits and on communication satisfaction (with Dr. Michael D. Hazen, http://www.wakeforest.edu/communication/Faculty/IndividualFac/Hazen.html).

Roger D'Aprix (http://www.roico.com/team_daprix.html) is vice president of ROI Communication consulting firm and has written numerous books on leadership and employee communication.  He is the author of Communicating for Change: Connecting the Workplace with the Marketplace, Face-to-Face: Communicating for Leadership, Communicating for Productivity, and The Credible Company: Communicating with a Skeptical Workforce.
